The San Francisco Bay Ferry provides weekday-only service between Alameda’s Harbor Bay terminal on Bay Farm Island in the East Bay and San Francisco’s Ferry Building terminal (Gate E). The Harbor Bay service is partially funded by Measure B.

To request an RTC Discount Card application, call (415) 364-3188 or visit the 511 website to download an application.

Purchasing Tickets & Transfer Info

    • Purchase tickets onboard the ferry at time of departure
    • We accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Commuter Check.
    • Tickets may only be used on the ferry route for which they were originally purchased.
    • Not valid for AT&T Park or Angel Island service
    • Transferring to and from MUNI using your Clipper Card?  MUNI offers a $0.50 transfer discount to adult San Francisco Bay Ferry passengers using Clipper, and San Francisco Bay Ferry offers a reciprocal $0.50 transfer to adult passengers tranferring from MUNI on their return trip.  Paper transfers will no longer be accepted by MUNI after November 4, 2012.
    • AC Transit transfer with ticket purchase.

San Francisco Ferry Bldg terminal map

San Francisco Ferry Building Terminal Address: The ferry arrives and departs from the South Terminal (Gate E), located approximately one block from Pier ½ on the south end of the Ferry Building.

Parking in San Francisco: Parking is limited around the ferry terminal. Riders are encouraged to use public transportation when boarding the ferry at the SF Ferry Building.

Public Transit Options: Transit options near the San Francisco Ferry Building include BART and MUNI buses, trolleys and light rail. In addition, connecting Golden Gate Transit ferries to Marin County (Tiburon, Sausalito, Larkspur), and San Francisco Bay Ferries to Vallejo, Oakland and Alameda Main St arrive and depart from the Ferry Building. Pier 41 terminal parking map

Pier 41 Terminal Address: Pier 41, San Francisco, CA 94133. Pier 41 is located immediately adjacent to the Pier 39 entertainment complex.

Parking at Pier 41: Parking is available at an hourly fee in the Pier 39 parking garage, located across the Embarcadero from Pier 41 and Pier 39.

Public Transit Options: Transit options near Pier 41 include MUNI buses, trolleys, light rail and cable car. In addition, connecting ferries to Tiburon & Sausalito, and San Francisco Bay Ferries to Vallejo, Oakland and Alameda Main St arrive and depart from the Pier 41 area.

Parking in Alameda Harbor Bay: Free parking is available adjacent to the terminal. There is no overnight parking. SmartBike parking in secure bicycle lockers is also available here using the BikeLink card system. Visit www.bikelink.org for more information.

AC Transit Bus Transfers: Every ferry ticket comes with an attached AC Transit transfer allowing ferry riders to ride FREE on AC buses to and from the Alameda Harbor Bay terminal (AC Transit Route 21).
