School Groups
San Francisco Bay Ferry offers discounted fares to local school groups seeking to use the ferry for a field trip or activity.
Eligibility
Groups are eligible if they are based in the nine-county Bay Area and are based in a K-12 education setting. Education-focused groups outside of schools (such as homeschool groups or after-school organizations) are welcome to apply as well. Advance registration and approval is required via the web form below. Blackout dates apply. There is a required ratio of at least one adult chaperone per 10 participants under the age of 18 years old. The Passenger Code of Conduct must be followed by the group members at all times.
Blackout Dates
Due to capacity limitations on vessels during certain periods of the day or on specific dates, we will not approve group requests for the following dates:

NOTICE: If you'd still like to travel with your group on the above dates, we invite you to see our regular fares on our Tickets & Fares Page and arrive at the ferry terminal 20 minutes prior to the vessel departure to secure your group's spot in the boarding queue. Groups traveling on the above dates do not need prior approval and will adhere to our normal fares. On the above dates, ferries are more likely to be at or near capacity. If you have a larger group, please plan accordingly. Please note that all regularly scheduled ferries are first come, first served.

Upon submission your Group Reservation Form, a Group Sales Representative will contact you to retrieve more information regarding your group's desire itinerary.
School Group Fares
School group fares are presented as one-way, per person rates and can only be applied if the Group Sales Representative approves the group rate for your desired itinerary. These rates apply to all travelers in group (including students, staff, parents, chaperones, and/or teachers).
- Vallejo Route: $3.60
- Richmond Route: $1.80
- Oakland & Alameda Route: $1.80
- South San Francisco Route: $2.80
- Alameda Seaplane Route: $1.80
- Harbor Bay Route: $1.80
